DIY engagement photos
Making and doing things for ourselves has always been a favorite pastime of ours. We enjoy the experience and the story behind everything we make, almost as much as we like making it. The odd fold, the asymmetry, the blemish. They remind us that we, ourselves, are still very much a DIY project, but when given guidance and enough freedom, we can become something uniquely beautiful.
Armed with a camera and a tripod, we spent the day visiting some of our favorite locations in Seattle – Alki Beach, Pioneer Square, Chinatown – to take our own engagement photos. Then we ended the day by creating our own wedding bands.
More Memories
It is said that photography is a sort of time travel. A static image locking within it a moment passed and evoking powerful memories. Like the pride of pitching a tent in the Alaskan wilderness, the joy of eating hot pot on top of a mountain, the prickly shower mat in that tiny home in Portland, the jealous stares from kids when we wore light sticks at Disneyland, the taste of broiled black cod collar at Maneki, the excitement from a sale at Alki Art Fair. These moments, though brief and far removed from our present life are reverberated back into our consciousness by these photos. We wish we can explain each one of them to you, but you kinda had to be there.

Cartoons/comics
Enough cannot be said about how accurate Cathy’s illustrations are. I hope you have already experienced the feeling of seeing yourself through Cathy’s eyes and the truthfulness you’ll feel when you say, “whoa… that’s me,” but if you haven’t yet, her illustrations start at $100.
